JULIUS CAESAR activities can be hard to find. This What's the Worst Crime? will get them discussing and arguing their opinions. After students have begun reading Julius Caesar, they will look at a list of 14 social offenses -- some serious, some not-so-serious, and some so minor they won't believe they're even on the list.
The catch is . . . all these offenses happen in Julius Caesar.
Students will then need to analyze and discuss the ethics and morality packed into each "crime." They'll rank them from worst to least, then decide what punishment should appropriately fit the crime.
This activity always raises some fun and thoughtful discussion during our Julius Caesar unit.

WHAT OTHER TEACHERS ARE SAYING ABOUT THIS LITERATURE RESOURCE
♥ Very stimulating resource. Had my students make two different group consensus with this, to make them argue their points and really rationalize their choices. They really had to think about the possibilities.
♥ Used this product and loved it. Last time I used it in 2 pieces - classroom discussion about justice vs law and then completing the worksheet task. Great tool that facilitated some great discussion and thought.
♥ Good way to summarize the story and also provoke conversation and discussion! Nice!
♥ My students loved this. Great way to get them thinking about the content!
♥ Creative resource. Generates a lot of discussion for pre-reading activity / group work. I will definitely use this in my teaching unit. Thanks.
