Brought to you by Kodaly Music With Mrs Perry, this fun, FUN, song is used for timka. It uses solfedge of do-re-mi-so-la-low so- low la. The game uses random space, so desks are not a real problem. Here is what you get:
*RHYTHM- There are 5 pages used for rhythm. Two are for preparing, three are for practicing. The rhythms are laid out in beat boxes with the associated text and a little spring man icon. When the student is able to hear where the timka rhythm is, he taps on the box. If he is correct, he is rewarded with the prepare notation and a sound. If the correct box is chosen, the sound is a springy "doink". If incorrect, the sound is a buzzer.
*MELODY - There are 2 pages for melody. The notation is color coded. To check for understanding, ask a student to tap all the 'do' pitches or 'mi' pitches for example. They will turn white, requiring the students to read without relying on color coding. If you do not wish to have any colors, then you simply tap them all to turn them white to start with.
*ACCOMPANIMENT - There is one page for accompaniment. On it you will find a xylophone part using F and Bb chords. There are also 2 drumming parts: one with the prepare rhythm and one with the actual notation. In addition, there is ukulele accompaniment embedded on the page, so you can add texture to your instrumentalists when they are playing, if you choose.
*GAME - game directions are included. They are easy and fun.
