A printable black and white emergent reader of Jack and the Beanstalk.
I designed it primarily for independent practice and retelling of events purposes, so only the major events of the story are included.
** PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING FEATURES OF MY BOOK, AS THEY MAY DIFFER FROM VERSIONS USED IN YOUR CLASS:
*I use a hen who lays golden eggs, instead of a goose
*Jack chops down the beanstalk at the end (he does not kill the giant) I also chose not to include what happens to the giant, in case you wanted to extend that into another activity.
*My version does not include the Giant's wife, the singing harp, or a fairy of a any kind.
My book relies on a heavy usage of sight words that are featured on most first grade lists and some kindergarten lists.
Each page contains between one and two lines.
Pictures are in black and white.
Thank you to Creative Clips for the use of the border in this cover :)
Thank you for purchasing, and I hope you enjoy this reader!
