This is a challenging whole-class (30 students) winter vocabulary themed activity appropriate for French Immersion. It provides your students with some excellent exposure to circumlocution and practice with oral interaction, as the clues are described in French and no English needs to be used.
There are cultural tie-ins with Québecois-specific vocabulary as well as authentic terms that typically one might not find within a published textbook vocabulary list to extend students read-world vocabulary, along with words related to winter clothing, animals, and things to do with snow & ice as you would expect.
It can be reused over and over by simply reshuffling the cards, and students will welcome the opportunity to get a better "time" or score by redoing the activity another day during this season! This is a PDF file but includes a blank card so that you may make your own customizations to best suit your class and to account for regional differences!
Instead of a preview, I've posted a fully functional 11-card freebie version, for you to try before you buy, which only includes the simpler terms and pared down descriptions for several of the harder clues.
