James and the Giant Peach which is a level Q according to the F&P leveling system. This is a Read Aloud type plan. Depending on the rigor of your grade, these would be good for 3rd/4th grades. Again, this plan is just lesson 1. Currently I've posted lessons 1-7 (up to chapter 17), and will finish the rest over the next week. All lessons address Common Core ELA standards and include objectives. Most lessons include a homework assignment aligned with the day's lesson (homework asks students to apply skills learned to their independent reading books or homework books - does not ask basic questions about James and the Giant Peach.) Everything that should be written into teacher charts is included. Additionally, I've included ASR (anticipated student responses) and have fully scripted each lesson.
**Please note I planned using the following version of the book. Page numbers in the lesson plan may be slightly off if you read to students using a different edition: http://www.amazon.com/James-Giant-Peach-Roald-Dahl/dp/0142410365/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=undefined&sr=1-1&keywords=james+and+the+giant+peach
