James and the Giant Peach is a 1996, Oscar nominated movie based on the children's novel by Roald Dahl in 1961. This classic story tells the imaginative, adventurous tale of James and his friends. Use this movie to increase engagement and challenge your students to analyze and think critically about the movie and its characters.
Discuss with your students the 10 high-level, short answer and essay questions by pausing at the designated times on the movie guide. See the thumbnails for example questions and the preview file for higher resolution sample questions.
An answer key is not included as many questions are open-ended and encourage students to analyze the film. Many answers will not fit into a 'box'. Students are encouraged to construct their own meaning from the characters' dialogue and behavior.
