Updated for 2015 Standards! Easily still used for 2008 standards, as there are only minor additions in knowledge for 2015.
The Virginia Studies curriculum for 4th or 5th graders in Virginia covers a lot of material. It is critical that the information is presented in an easy-to-read format that will allow students to reference the information again and again. This document includes one page notes for each of the SOLs from VS3a to VS3g, which covers the Jamestown period. Each page includes a title with the SOL covered, 1 or 2 essential understandings to summarize the material, essential questions and their answers. The document also includes a page with suggestions for how to use the notes and a cover page.
In my classroom, I use this style of notes through the year as part of their interactive notebooks for social studies. Students and parents appreciate the format and always have the information they need at their fingertips.
The preview includes the first three pages of the document-the cover sheet, the suggested use page, and the first page of notes.
