Here's a visually rich set of word wall cards/posters that you can display in your classroom as you teach your students about the Jamestown colony (aligned with Virginia Studies VS.3)!
Key terms/places/people include: agriculture, burgess, charter, chief, colonization, colony/settlement, copper, disease, economic venture, elect, enslaved person, establish/found, finance, forced work program, General Assembly, government, governor, governor's council, hardship, inland, invader, island, leadership, legislative body, marshy, native people(s), peninsula, permanent, power, raw materials, silver and gold, site, starvation, stockholder, survival skills, tobacco economy, trade market, trading relationship, tribe, wealth, England, North America, Jamestown, James River, Angola, Virginia colony, Virginia Company of London, King James I, Captain John Smith, Powhatan, and Pocahontas.
There is a word wall card for each of the above terms/places/people. In addition, there are three posters included (the Jamestown colony, hardships and survival changes, and the General Assembly).
Note: the five people cards have a name and picture only - no facts. I've done this purposely because of how I use these cards in my classroom. If you would prefer to have key information on these cards, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will add those to the set. Also, there are a few duplicate cards (i.e., tribe, peninsula, etc.) from my other sets, since some words are used in multiple standards.
Please check out the preview to see examples of what's included in this product!
