This is a fun, hands-on, cut and paste activity which has students categorize the six major hardships, and the 13 changes (solutions) to those hardships which helped to make Jamestown a success. Students cut and paste the solutions into the table provided. This activity is suitable for general education students, special needs students, and ELL/ESL. It is a great hands-on versatile activity and can be used in the following ways: a warm-up, a collaborative group activity, guided practice after instruction, independent practice, or as an assessment. It has been successfully used both in the general education class and inclusion setting with low readers as a modified/alternate assessment.
