Contemporary Artist Jane Mount creates paintings of her “ideal bookshelf” showing a row of people’s favorite books. She calls them PORTRAITS because even though it does not show a person’s face we can tell a lot about the person by their favorite books. Jane Mount uses creative TYPOGRAPHY to create the title, author and publisher on the spine. She also uses decorative patterns or pictures on the spine that foreshadow what the story is about.
This bundle includes a lesson plan, students image examples, a Jane Mount worksheet and additional resource links.
