Read alouds are one of my favorite part of teaching primary! January is full of great winter books for you to incorporate into your lesson plans. This bundle includes four flip books that you can pair with fun winter reads!
January Flip Book Bundle includes-
This flip book is a great book companion to reinforce sight words, predictable text, and sequencing. The students trace the word "likes" to complete each sentence.
This Snowman Flip Book can be paired with any snowman book and is a great book companion to reinforce sight words, predictable text, and sequencing. The students trace the word "can" to complete each sentence.
Use this flip book to check for comprehension and practice the story elements! You can pair this flip book with the story- The Bear Snores On. Pass out all of the pages to the flip book. Ask the students to cut out the pages and order them starting at number one. I like to have them raise their hand when they are done and I come around with a stapler to check their work, and place one staple on the left side. While they are waiting, I tell them to color the book. When the students all have their book stapled, we either complete each page as a whole group (I read the question and they each respond by circling the answer) or I collect them and we complete them in small groups.
Students always love learning about penguins in the winter. It's a great way to introduce verbs! Penguins waddle, slide, swim, dive, etc. and it's a great time to talk about action words.I always incorporate several snow books during the winter. There are so many different penguin books, and it is fun reading several to my class. This flip book is a great book companion to reinforce sight words, predictable text, and verbs.
