These writing prompts will give your Spanish beginning writers the confidence needed as they transition into independent writing. You can staple the pages together to make a booklet for each student or pass them out daily. It will be necessary to model often how to use the page during your guided writing time. It is important to show them how to walk through the process of being a good writer. Depending on your students, this might take many or just a few repetitions. There are 11 writing prompts with a key (in Spanish) that shows them the process a good writer must walk through. (Draw, Label, Capital Letter, Spaces, Punctuation, Re-check). There is a drawing beside each step that goes along with the image. There is also a list of high frequency words, and a list of high frequency phrases that you may also supply the student. Plus, there is an additional page of just dotted lines in case they don't have enough writing space. I've included the translation to English of each Spanish prompt in the How-To page. Enjoy!
