I give a spelling menu to my students each Friday afternoon with their new list of spelling words which we test on the following Friday. Students have a full week to complete this spelling menu and turn it in with the applicable written work. I’ve seen other teachers use their spelling menu as a center activity during reading centers. To help make sure this is a valuable resource to you as you’d like to use it in your classroom, I have included a color and b&w version of January's spelling menu. The activities on the menu are:
*identifying the number of syllables
*drawing a picture of the word
*cutting out letters from magazines/grocery ads/etc
*creative writing - snow theme
*snowball fight (movement activity)
Thank you so much for checking out my work &I hope you and your students love it as much as mine do!
