Engage your students in their own learning with this Internet Activity on the earthquakes in Japan in April 2016. This activity has 30 interesting questions that will motivate your class to want to learn more and watch for the next earthquake in the news. Terms like the Ring of Fire, tsunami, tectonic plates, epicenter, hypocenter, aftershocks, foreshock and mainshock are introduced in this activity. Even the April 16th earthquake in Ecuador is referred to so your class will be driven to do more research. All my products are done to encourage your students to become more interested in the news. This activity will create background information that will increase your students’ knowledge on earthquakes and the more background knowledge a student has the better their reading scores will be. Incorporate current events into your curriculum and turn out more informed citizens.
