Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda is half Japanese and he wanted to let people know about the atrocities that happened to Japanese- Americans during WWII, when many Americans were forced into Internment Camps. This lesson plan includes a snippet of Shinoda's MTV interview, lyrics to his song, a worksheet with discussion questions and essay prompts. It also includes a link to a teacher created music video for the rap. This lesson leads to great discussions in class and really makes students think about the similarities between the US's internment camps and Hitler's ghettoizing of the Jewish people of Europe.
This product is in Word so you can edit it to suit the needs of your students. It also includes an answer key for the teacher.
