This unit is designed for Year 5 or Year 6 (if just starting Japanese). It can be used for other year levels; you just may have to adjust some activities.
It is a practical unit. If students were to go to Japan, it is full of Japanese that they could use every day.
In this unit, students will learn about;
Japanese convenience stores
Japanese yen – what it looks like, what coins and notes there are, how much they are worth.
Kanji numbers from 1-10, then 20-90, 100-900
一to 十、二十 to九十、百 to九百 and up to九百九十
To recognise and trace the Kanji for 百、円、百円、五百円.
To build numbers in yen in practical situations
To ask for items ___________を ください。
To understand Japanese used in a convenience store shopping experience
To purchase items at a convenience store (as a Role Play)
