This is another one of those Arts Integration projects that I really believe in. The end product is a great tool for 3rd-5th grade students & probably the most artsy way I can think of to make a multiplication table. The idea is to recreate the style of Jasper Johns "Numbers" in a multiplication table.
This lesson is a great way for students to apply shape/form as elements of art or teach unity as a principle of design. The end result is a tool the students will be able to use for a long time (especially if you can laminate the worksheet).
Consider purchasing my Jasper Johns Multiplication Table Worksheet or use a multiplication table of you own design. The lesson plan can be used with my Shapes in Art - mini lesson as well. Check that out as a resource for describing shape and form as elements of art.
I am constantly working to improve my lesson plans, PowerPoints, visuals, etc. If and when I improve this or any other item I have for sale on TPT, I will always offer the updated version to the purchasers of the original at no cost.
If you ever have a concern about any of my lessons feel free to email me. I'm happy to receive any feedback. ElemArts14@yahoo.com
