This hands on mapping activity takes students on a step by step journey in drawing the features of these treaties on a map. using a READ THIS, DO THIS format, students read small sections of background text and then follow simple mapping instructions, to illustrate the reading.
This activity begins with an introduction to the issues faced in Washington's presidency then moves in to securing the Northwest Territory.Up next is the French Revolution. Again, students READ BACKGROUND, and then COMPLETE Mapping instructions. The activity finishes with both Jay's and Pinkneys Treaty reading/mapping about how Washington had to deal with the problems associated with remaining neutral.
Finally, an EXIT TICKET is included that asks students three questions that will summarize the entire activity perfectly.
