This is by far one of my favorite projects! Students have reported that they absolutely love this project because of its incorporation of technology, autonomy, and Americana. This video editing idea came from Jay Leno's "Jaywalking" segment on his popular nighttime TV show. Students may not realize it, but by asking these questions and interviewing people on campus, they are truly learning a lot about American government in the process.

This project includes an edited student sample as well (which received an 'A' grade).
In essence, students form groups and interview students and staff members outside of class. They use a list of Citizenship Test questions. Your school will need to have Window Movie Maker, or you can use another program.
This handout includes the following:
1. Project overview
2. Video editing instructions
3. A group hall pass
4. Citizenship Test (with answers included)
