PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This is a lesson about the great jazz artists of the early-mid 20th century. A short bio and musical examples/video links are included of each of the following musicians: Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Louis Armstrong, Dizzie Gillespie, Billie Holiday, and Ella Fitzgerald. The lesson wraps up with a video clip from the 1948 movie "A Song is Born." Short follow-up/discussion questions are at the end of the presentation.
This lesson can be taught in a 40 minute class or can be expanded and taught as a multi-day unit.
