Jazz History Webquest for Use with Google Classroom™-You the Curator

Google Drive™ folder

Description
Teaching jazz appreciation can be a challenge for middle school and high school general music. With this Google Slide™ webquest, "You the Curator: Jazz History", your students will be the "curator" of a jazz section of a museum. Students will use website links already provided on the webquest to answer questions, provide sound clips or YouTube links from my jazz YouTube playlist, and add photos on jazz history, styles, and musicians.
There are even a few hidden cross-curricular items, such as a pictogram set in an algebraic equation and a small map for some map skills. There is a teachers' guide included, which gives some basic instructions on how to add this to your Google Classroom™, screenshots of the slides, and answer keys. This activity would be wonderful. for enrichment, independent study, or with a substitute.
Topics include:
♯ The origins of jazz
♯ Different jazz styles
♯ Famous jazz musicians
♯ The opportunity for the student to choose what jazz information is of interest to them and create a museum "gallery".
It might even trigger a little interest in even MORE research on jazz, the one original American form of music.
