A glyph is a representation of data in picture form. In these worksheets, students are asked to color different parts of the picture depending on what they are hearing from the music.
These glyphs are designed with specific jazz pieces in mind. There are a variety of levels included, each with 3-4 things to listen for, including fast/slow, loud/soft, staccato/legato, various instruments, etc. Unfortunately, due to copyright laws, the music is not included.
Listening glyphs included for:
"Maple Leaf Rag" by Scott Joplin
"What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong
"Take the A-Train" performed by Duke Ellington & his orchestra
"Summertime" sung by Billie Holiday
"Yardbird Suite" by Charlie Parker
"Rhapsody in Blue" by George Gershwin
Please rate and review - it's really important to me! Thanks!
