This year, I am looking trying to add more children's books into my elementary music lessons. This one was a huge hit with my students!
Jazz on a Saturday Night is a story about a fictional performance with seven jazz giants like Ella Fitzgerald, Charley Parker, Miles Davis, Miles Coltrane, and more. These activities are extensions for the book. They are primarily focused on learning about jazz instruments. There is also a writing activity where students can write a letter to one of the jazz musicians from the book.
Although this is meant for the elementary music teacher, you could also leave this (or at least parts of this!) for a sub!
- 7 print and go lesson extension pages
