This hands-on activity helps students to understand the basic components of a cell by creating an edible model of a plant and/or animal cell. Students enjoy this activity and love the final product!

Students can create a plant cell model with mostly edible representations of the following plant cell parts: cell wall, cytoplasm, nucleus, endoplasmic reticulum, ribosome, Golgi bodies, chloroplast, mitochondrion, central vacuole, cell wall (not edible).
