Students will practice their math skills with activities that focus on;

• Number Sense and Numeration - addition, subtraction, estimation, one-to-one correspondence, skip counting, doubles. Also includes number lines, ten frames and 100 charts.

• Patterning and Algebra - creating and extending patterns.

• Data Management and Probability - sorting, tally, graphing, pictographs, describing probability.

• Measurement - estimate and measure using non-standard units (jelly beans).

• Geometry and Spatial Sense - build and describe 3-dimensional structures.

This resource contains the following black & white no-prep printable materials;

☼ Le tri des couleurs - sort your jelly beans by colour
☼ Bonbons haricots - colour the pictograph to represent the colours of jelly beans you have.
☼ Bonbons haricots - create a pictograph using your jelly beans. Use this page as a mat for the pictograph then take a picture or transfer the data to the graphing page.
☼ Je peux comparer les données - write statements based on the data shown on the pictograph. A second page is provided for students to colour in their own data. Students will use the language 'plus que, moins que, égal à'.
☼ La moitié - math factor trees for doubles 2-20.
☼ La soustraction - roll the dice and subtract the smaller number from the larger one.
☼ Jelly Bean Guess - print, cut and let your students estimate the number of beans in a jar.
☼ Les traits - tally the colours of jelly beans you have using tally marks.
☼ La probabilité - colour the beans and use your math words 'certain, impossible, possible' to describe the probability of picking certain colours from the jar.
☼ Compter par bonds - use the number lines to skip count, then write the number you counted by inside the jelly bean; 1, 2, 5, 10.
☼ Mesure - measure the height of each animal on the page using non-standard units (jelly beans). You could also extend this activity by having students use a ruler too to find the length of each line.
☼ Mesure - measure the length of classroom objects using non-standard units (jelly beans). You could also extend this activity by having students use a ruler too to find the length.
☼ Patterning - Tout de suite! Create and extend patterns using 1 or 2 attributes.
☼ Solides sucrés - build and describe 3-D shapes using jelly beans and toothpicks. An excellent cross-curricular tool - science STEM.
☼ Grilles de 10 - complete the 10-frames by drawing or placing jelly beans in the frame, then complete the addition sentence.
☼ 100 charts - blank jelly beans for students to write numbers from 1-100 and another version with the numbers included. Shade all the number patterns you find.
