Included in this set are 10 jelly bean name ostinato word/picture cards and 10 corresponding rhythm cards. These can be printed back to back, or can be used for match up. Also included in color and black and white is a worksheet for students to practice sorting jelly beans by rhythm patterns (matching syllables of the flavor name to the jar with the corresponding rhythm pattern)
Rhythms included use quarter notes, quarter rests, eighth notes, and half notes. Pick and choose rhythmic cards that work for your class, if they do not know all of the rhythms included.
Directions and ideas for use are included.
Students can chant the rhythm patterns repeatedly as ostinato and then the ostinato patterns can be arranged and layered by students. These can be performed with text, with rhythm, or with instruments in an ensemble. Students can use them to composer or arrange their own pieces.
These can also be used for matching games. Suggestions for use in your classroom are included.
