Many teachers have shared the awesome idea of using colored wooden blocks from the game Jenga to review and teach different concepts. This game is designed to go with 6 different colored blocks and review different place value concepts.
The concepts included in this game are:
- expanded notation
- rounding decimals
- estimation with decimals
- comparing decimals
- adding and subtracting decimals.
In this game, students take turns trying to pull a colored block from the stack. I have decided to write numbers on my blocks. Students must answer the question from the color card and number of the block they pull. A student recording sheet is included for students to write their work and answers.
