This is a bit of a brainteaser activity to practice question formation using basic vocabulary, good for Spanish students levels 1 and 2.
Students work in partners. One partner holds the sheet of paper, and reads the Spanish sentence from the first column. (example: Hoy es martes - Today is Tuesday.) Their partner then must produce the original question which might have elicited such a response. (example: Qué día es hoy? - What day is today?) In this way, the activity resembles Jeopardy.
A great 5-10 minute review activity of basic Spanish questions and question formation. I've also used it as a fallback activity for those days where you finish your lesson plans early and need something to fill the rest of the hour!
