To summarize the major events in the establishment of the Thirteen Colonies.
2 class periods
This lesson begins as class members read a summary of the major events in the founding of the Thirteen Colonies. The summary includes sections with information about each colony. Give students time to underline or highlight the key words, names, terms, and ideas. They can use this information during the playing of the JEOPARDY games. There is a Game 1 and Game 2.
Each time my students walk into class and see JEOPARDY categories on the board, they get excited. The competition in these games make social studies class a lot of fun.
I use several JEOPARDY games during the school year to help students learn. Others can be found in my TpT store.
Easy-to-follow Teacher Instructions and answer key included, along with a 20-question follow up quiz to measure student progress.
The quiz can also be given as a homework assignment.
