Chalkboard Challenge is a Jeopardy-like game where students get to test their knowledge of topics taught in a typical unit on atoms and the periodic table. These topics are found in four separate categories, as described below.
- Atom Basics
- It's Elementary
- (The) Periodic Table
- Atomic History
Just to make things more interesting and fun, the final category is random Superhero trivia. Trust me, your students will love this category the most! A final Chalkboard Challenge question asks why atomic mass numbers on the periodic table (as decimals) are never the mass numbers of the actual element they describe.
