This is a fun jeopardy review for Chapter 5a of Realidades 1, focusing on the vocabulary of family, the vocabulary of fiestas (luces, pinatas, papel picado, etc..), possessive pronouns (mi, tus, sus, nuestros), the verb 'tener', translations with the verb tener, and questions and question words.
Students select a category and a point value, and then make an attempt to respond first to the prompt. If they get it correct, their team gets the points, and if they get it wrong they lose the points, and the next team has a chance to respond. I have put a sample question from each category, and the ppt displays the answer to each question upon clicking. The questions increase in difficulty with the point value.
I have done this powerpoint with individual whiteboards, one chalkboard, orally, in groups, and with jeopardy buzzers, and it works great. The only changes I have made to the original are the last two questions of the fifth category, which were based on a movie the class had seen. Please see the preview for the categories and the sample questions.
This is best for Spanish 1-2, and thematically follows Realidades 1 5a.
If you have any questions on how to make these types of activities more inclusive for all students, please post a question, as I have many strategies that can help. Have fun!
