This lesson helps students to step out of the box when designing a piece of jewelry. It gives them constraints to help to focus their design, but also allows them room to bring in their own ideas and personal taste.
Students will gain a better understanding about the elements and principles of art, as well as spend time becoming familiar with a famous artist.
Students will learn to problem solve, as they have to look at works of art by painters and photographers, and translate that into a piece of jewelry.
I often use this lesson in conjunction with the critique cards.
