Bring the magic of Christmas into your classroom with this incredibly simple Jingle Bells music for hand bells!
The color coded portion of this file is intended for use with Kidsplay 8 note Diatonic hand bells. The note colors are coordinated with the color of the same-tone bell. If you have hand bells of a different color, I recommend adding a piece of colored tape or sticker to match the color on the music. Otherwise, you can use the non-color coded music and either color it in, or teach your students to match their bell to its corresponding note/letter name.
Jingle Bells uses the notes Middle C-G. This music was written with the following notes and rests: quarter notes, quarter rests, 2 eighth notes, and one half rest. Teaching students a basic background on how these notes are counted will be helpful but not necessary if they are familiar with the rhythm of Jingle Bells. I have omitted half notes, whole notes, and dotted half notes for ease of use with beginners and young students. As such, the rhythm may seem slightly different in the 4th measure than what is usually heard. Quarter rests have replaced the second beat of the half notes that would traditionally be used in Jingle Bells.
Enjoy sharing the fun and joy of playing hand bells with your students of all ages and please check out my ever-growing selection of hand bell music!
