Interested in teaching job interviewing to your students?

Looking for a life skill to teach students, or an inspiring unit to break the quarterly "lulls"?

Job interviewing is by far the most fun, and one of the most useful units we use each year. It doesn't end there. I find myself pulling out these handouts throughout the year, as students start to apply for jobs and need refreshers. Even students who do not take my class come to talk shop and we use the handouts to talk about common job interview questions often.

Nowhere will you find more content and scaffolding for individual job interview questions. At the end of the unit, students will have substantive and thoughtful answers to each interview question discussed. This curriculum was written for high school students, but is accessible if you want to try them out with middle school students as well!

Included in this unit:

NO PREP lesson plans for 9 Interview Questions

QUESTIONS DISCUSSED:

1. "Tell me a little about yourself."

2. Why do you want to work here?"

3. "What are your greatest strengths?"

4. "What is your greatest weakness?"

5. "Where do you see yourself in 5 years?"

6. "What are 3 words to describe yourself?" (see a sample, here!)

7. "How do you handle stress and pressure?"

8. "How would you deal with an angry customer?"

9. "Do you have any questions for me?
