After giving students a bit of explicit instruction with subjunctive, how about giving them some input with it? And in conjunction with the job vocab in Avancemos 3?
In this activity, you tape 10 jobs around your classroom (p. 3 of product), and then students have to walk around and write in on their sheets the jobs, based on who the statements would be said to. All statements contain subjunctive - as if a boss were recommending, suggesting, or emphasizing certain things.
Instructions include having students identify subjunctive triggers and verbs. Focus on Form.
EXAMPLE: "Espero que llegues a Pluto, y espero que conozcas a ET".
MATCH = astronauta
Possible short homework assignment at the end! =Students come up with their own phrases for people who work in the fields listed. The whole assignment could be slightly adapted to give as homework (if you cut and paste the job list and put it in as a word bank).
