1947's short story by John Cheever, "The Enormous Radio" has become a popular and relevant tale of the addiction and unintended effects that technology can have on average people today. In addition to the full text, I have included vocabulary, pre-reading anticipation questions as well as the study guide for students that lead to great oral discussions in class. I've even used this with Literature Circles.
This simple story on the surface has become a favorite among students in the past few years.
