John Inglefield's Thanksgiving is a short story by the often wordy, but much loved Nathaniel Hawthorne. This is not your typical Thanksgiving story, but it is typical Hawthorne. It tells the story of John Inglefield, whose wayward daughter returns on Thanksgiving Day. She is, however, a sinner, and cannot break the bonds of sin in order to be his good daughter.
This adaptation simplifies the wording, while adhering to the plot of the story. It is written at approximately the 5th grade level. It is a hi/lo resource.
