Product Description
This Marshall Court editable PowerPoint presentation for Grades 7-12 acquaints students with the Marshall Court through an overview of John Marshall, a brief history of the early Supreme Court, and an introduction to cases in which the Marshall Court promoted Federal Supremacy, Economic Development, and Judicial Power.

This PowerPoint is an excellent way to introduce the Marshall Court to students. Use it before delving deeper into the cases of MARBURY v. MADISON, US v. FISHER, DARTMOUTH COLLEGE v. WOODWARD, McCULLOCH v. MARYLAND, COHENS v. VIRGINIA, and GIBBONS v. OGDEN. This presentation will provide a lens to help students understand why these cases are important and how the Marshall Court’s decisions promote Federal Supremacy, Economic Development and Judicial Power.

GRADE LEVEL: This presentation has been used with both high school students and middle school students. In its current form, it is probably better suited to older students, but it is editable so you can add or subtract information as it applies to your classroom and students.
