I use this with my kindergarten classes and my first graders who surprised me by learning, remembering, and performing dynamics correctly from pp - ff!
Every spring the kindergartners plant a garden and I like to tie in songs about gardening. There are so many ways to use this song, and in this PowerPoint I try to incorporate all of them. This can be used to teach cues, dynamics, and listening. Step-by-step is the best for my ELL students and also is helpful for my visual learners
This PowerPoint includes animated slides that walk students through their response in the song (for movement I have them jump up when it is their turn to sing their part), advancing to aurally identifying the rhythm "oh yes" is, performing that rhythm on the barred instruments, and then finally singing their part at different dynamic levels.
Keep an eye out for lesson plans to accompany this presentation as well!
I am always looking to make improvements to my work; I would greatly appreciate if you rated the product and provide constructive feedback to help me improve my products for my own teaching and for you as well.
