Description

These Johnny Appleseed activities and writing craft make it fun and easy to teach about the life of John Chapman as you celebrate Johnny Appleseed Day! This resource includes a 4-day lesson plan with minilessons, class chart, prewriting organizers and knapsack writing craft.

The perfect addition to an apple theme, your September back to school activities, and even your American folk heroes and tall tales units, your students will love guessing what’s inside Johnny Appleseed’s knapsack!

There are two versions of the knapsack craft, “Who Was Johnny Appleseed?” and “What’s in Johnny’s Knapsack?” you can easily use as a reading response to a Johnny Appleseed read aloud.

What’s inside:

Mini lessons & 4-day lesson plan

Class anchor chart & printable title lettering

Projectable charts

Graphic organizers

Knapsack craft with easy cut pieces in two versions with two handwriting line styles

Please see the preview for all that is included.

Happy teaching!
