Johnny Appleseed ELA Lesson and Craft

This is a Reading and Writing lesson plan about Johnny Appleseed. It is a great, simple ELA activity if you want to focus on Johnny Appleseed for one day only. Students will read an online article and the text Johnny Appleseed by Steven Kellogg and record interesting facts and big ideas. Students will then write an informational paragraph about Johnny Appleseed from the information gathered. When students publish the writing piece they can create the Johnny Appleseed face to peek over the page.
