** Please note I have included a black and white version if you would like your students to colour first - and I have included the colour version for the print and go centre.
I made a series of cootie catchers for my jolly phonics program. I use these with my grade one students at the beginning of the year as review and reinforcement of letter identification and sound. These cootie catchers have been a BIG hit as the children think of them more as a game than a learning activity (shhh don't tell them!) I have incorporated this as one of my literacy centres when teaching the first set of Jolly Phonics Letters S A T I P N ... a cootie catcher has 8 spots and this jolly phonics set has 6 letters so I added a couple of the next set as a challenge.
