This interactive group discussion is dedicated to chapter three of Krakauer's Into Thin Air, but the setup could be used for multiple topics. First, students will be randomly placed into five total groups. Within that group, you have 12 minutes to complete the chapter three tasks associated with major themes. At the end of the 12 minutes, one person chosen by your group will rotate to their right and share your answers to the next group for 4 minutes. The people not rotating are responsible for sharing with the rotator for 4 minutes. At the end, students will have an opportunity to grade you group members and the rotators using the attached half-sheet grading rubric. The image of the activity is only a preview of two of the five group prompts.
