A great primary source analysis that allows students to experience the Holocaust and antisemitism from the side of the Nazi party. This sheet contains several excerpts from the diary of Joseph Goebbels - the "Minister of Propoganda" for the Nazi party. The analysis questions direct students to closely read the text and summarize several main reasons for antisemitism. It can lead to a deep discussion on the reasons for the Holocaust, and is a good lesson in historical perspective as well. Designed for a high school classroom, this activity takes about 20-30 minutes to complete.
