Journaling is a way that teachers can have a conversation with their students individually. This is a supplemental activity that goes along with reading Arthur Miller's "The Crucible." Each act of the play has a list of journal topics for students to consider while reading. I find this helps students relate with the characters and events more. Teachers can choose the number of journal topics to assign according to the level of each class. I found great success in my general classes with this activity as well as with my enriched classes.
