I like to give my students writing homework every night but hate copying worksheets. So instead I give them a journal to write in Monday - Thursday each week. I created monthly calendars (August - June) with writing prompts. There are 2 versions of the calendars: one with written prompts and one with picture prompts for younger students or those with limited language. The picture prompts are very general topics and students can write about anything connected to the prompt. I have also included the rubric I use to grade journal entries each week. I collect journals on Friday mornings and return journals first thing on Monday mornings.
This product includes calendars for August through June (with both written and picture prompts), monthly journal covers, lined journal paper, and a rubric for grading. Everything you need to start using journals as homework in your classroom!
