Students often struggle to add details to journal pictures. They have difficulty picturing in their minds what things look like. They need to have a clear picture in their mind before they can begin to write about something. This activity will help them practice representational drawing and incorporate more details into their pictures and writing.
Directions: Print double sided, laminate and use either words or picture models for activities. You can also cut them out and use individually.
Students can use the template provided to draw individual pictures or blank paper to draw a picture that incorporates a number of the sketches in a representational drawing.
