Handouts to create a journal that students can use to respond to reading (class novel, independent reading, etc.).
Students will learn various reading strategies (predicting, making connections, etc.) and will use the handouts to guide their learning and to respond to reading.
-Three types of cover pages (with picture, without picture, border only)
-Handouts for concepts (POV, questioning, inferencing, etc.)
-Worksheet to go along with each concept so students can practice their responses
-Instruction sheet with my suggestions for implementing the journal (in English and French)
The handouts for each concept include examples, sentence prompts, and guiding questions for reluctant writers.
