Product Description
This lesson plan uses the criticized CBS headline regarding the February 2016 Israeli border attack.

Included are the full lesson plan, using the workshop model (learning intention, do now, mini lesson, activity, wrap), the CBS headline, as well as their later corrected version, and other headlines from the same incident, some with bias and some without. Students use accountable talk and questioning to learn about media bias and headline writing.

Students will hopefully walk away from the lesson with increased knowledge of the responsibility news media has to be non-bias, as well as an increased understanding of their own responsibility as members of society to ask questions about things that just don't seem right.
