Engage your students in an authentic, student driven, inquiry based, comprehensive journalism unit that offers students clear directions to become successful journalists. • Analyze enclosed news articles
• Use models articles to analyze the news article structure they’ll be using
• Learn how to use prepositions, appositives, possessives, proper nouns,
homophones, verb tense and titling with puns and alliterations
• Correct initial and follow up articles missing punctuation
• Determine and learn journalistic language to use in their own articles
• Define data needed to collect in order to write powerful articles
• Collaborate to determine how to spot an idea for an article
• Learn Interviewing protocol
• Take authentic journalistic notes and work in partnerships to revise article notes
• Write three journalistic articles using organizers
• Use a checklist to assess their articles
